Hello, my name is Andrea.

I have a degree in Modern Languages ​​(English, Spanish and French) with a postgraduate degree in Higher Education and a Master’s in International Trade. I also have a diploma in English Improvement from an Irish institute, among other training courses.

I have taught English and French as a foreign language for over 15 years at university, school and business levels.

On the Isthmus, I have had the opportunity to work as an English teacher for the Universidad Latina and at the University of Panama.

Hello Future Student!

After decades of using the English Language as my first in both my native country of South Africa and abroad, I now wish to give my time and unbelievable energy to non-native English Speakers. I am highly confident that my dedicated instructions would be a valuable contribution to your social life and career.

I do have a TEFL certificate to teach English as a foreign language. I have a lot of experience in teaching English and I believe that my teaching skills can instantly change someone’s view on the language.

I am also a Sign Language instructor and have worked at an orphanage so I am well-known for my high level of patience and understanding of people with special needs.

I also have a Master’s Degree in Teacher Education with a special study of English and English Literature.

My four years of studying and teaching English and Sign Language, and another ten years of life in a native English Speaking country has provided invaluable experiences in the field of the language. Traveling extensively abroad has also improved my social intelligence as it has also helped me embrace many cultural differences. In traveling and working in many different countries I can now speak five languages fluently.

I want to share my favorite experience in teaching English.

I always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a little girl. I admired teachers a lot and I chased my career by pursuing the course in college.

One of my favorite first experiences as a teacher was when I was introduced to a class of students that couldn’t speak or write English and I was told it was my duty to make them speak and write proper English with good grammar ASAP. Now the best part of it was that within a period of three months, the students could communicate very well in English though their grammar wasn’t so great. But I was overwhelmed that I shared my knowledge with them. After some time we practiced grammar and it was unbelievable! They did their best, and they were really determined, and I was able to motivate them more and more.

I love English because it’s the number one language in the world. Besides that, I love English because it makes me excited when I’m teaching, and sharing the knowledge. I don’t think I can switch my career to any other. Teaching is my best path and I do it with passion, and all my heart.

Good morning, my name is Narda.

I have been an English teacher for 15 years. I have been a teacher at all levels of education (primary, secondary and university). My experience has given me the opportunity to grow professionally; since I have had the opportunity to teach for 10 years different subjects at the university level such as: scientific research, literature, linguistics, translation, among others, making me a specialist in these areas.

My degree in Methodology in the teaching of the English language allowed me to acquire the knowledge and practice to implement in the classroom a diversity of techniques, didactic material, strategies and methods to facilitate students in learning in a fun and easy way. I have a large number of teaching materials and books for my work. Hello everyone, my name is Ruhan and I am from Cape Town, South Africa. I am 37 years old.

I am a certified ESL instructor with a TEFL certificate and 1 year private tutoring experience.

I teach beginner to intermediate level learners, both younger students as well as adults.

For my lessons, I also like to include pictures, flashcards, drawings and role-playing to make lessons fun and more interactive.

For my beginner students, I normally start slow with basic greetings and words to focus on pronunciation and we then start to increase your word base with colours, numbers, family words, clothing, shopping, food, weather, animals, activities etc until the student is comfortable with most words and phrases.

I am very patient with my students, as I understand that learning a new language can be difficult. My students should not be scared to make mistakes, because making mistakes is part of learning. It will take some time, but eventually you will be comfortable with English and become fluent.

Hi! I’m Bob. I have been teaching abroad for twelve years since 2008. Having graduated from a major American university with a BS degree in Social Studies Education and receiving a TESOL certificate, I went to teach American English in Vietnam, Thailand, Costa Rica, and now, finally, Panama. I have taught on every level; elementary though university, always highlighting conversational American English as a road to increased international communication and professional advancement.

The classes I conduct place emphasis on the strengthening of American English pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension. My classes utilize a one-on-one response/correction method that thoroughly engages the student in the use of American English to promote confidence and understanding. The student will be associated with idioms and common conversational language usage to be a better communicator in situations that require American English skills. This works to cause self-doubts to recede and English skills to vastly improve with continued practice.

I worked with children at Boston School International teaching history and geography, so I will be good for teaching your children these subjects as well as English as spoken by a native speaker.

She holds an M.D. in Spanish Language and Literature from Barcelona University, Spain, and an M.D. in Modern Greek Language and Literature from the University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Also, a B.D in English from the University of Panama, Panama, and a Technical Degree in Translation from George Brown Institute of Arts and Technology, Toronto, Canada.

Danae’s primary interests include the practical techniques and methodology for teaching modern foreign languages to small groups and individual adult students, student-centered classes, addressing student expectations while creating a positive learning environment. Find a balance among modeling, explaining, and practice, taking on account student interests and development. She has written articles in several magazines and newspapers about several topics and published three short story books, two essay books, and two poetry anthologies in English and Spanish. She has addressed conferences and workshops in Panamanian and Latin American Literature in Mexico, Venezuela, Greece, and Panama.

Danae enjoys teaching and believes in close interaction between professors and students to facilitate the immersion in the studied foreign language as much as possible. Hi, I’m Vicky, an English (and Spanish) teacher. I have a degree in bilingual education and a master’s degree in higher education. I currently teach online classes to students from various countries around the world. It has been very enriching to teach people of different ages and to know the culture involved in the process of teaching and learning languages.

Over the course of several years, I have taught language classes at Spanish Panama Language School, and with it I have had the opportunity to focus on developing students’ production skills, especially conversational skills.

I rely on the communicative approach and the silent mode (The Silent Way).

In the methodology developed, the teacher encourages the student to speak as much as possible by having their classmates correct it and vice versa, while the teacher models and corrects the pronunciation of each student who participates in the space.

Hello, my name is Pilar. I’m 28 years old. I´m an English teacher. I love to teach in all the areas of English education. I have taught English in primary school, high school, and university levels. Since I graduated from high school in 2009 I have dedicated 10 years in specializing in different areas in bilingual education.

I studied my degree in English in university, a Specialization in middle school Methodology, Post-grade and Master’s degree in English and a Post-grade in higher education. I studied ESL at Lindenwood University and received various other certificates as well. English is my second language as I’m a native Spanish speaker. I worked as a conversation partner in Lindenwood, working with Europeans and Americans with their Spanish proficiency. It was a great experience for me.

My methodology´s simple, as I’m the kind of teacher that likes to teach vocabulary. When you know a wide vocabulary, it gets better when you need to express a simple idea. For me the most important in any language is understanding and being understood to lead to better communication. This applies to English and Spanish. My favorite strategy when I teach a specific topic it’s TPR (Total Physical Response) and in the classroom I play a lead role. I start by saying a phrase and demonstrating an action, then I say the command, and the students all do the action. I use a lot of regalia, flashcards, images, objects, videos, etc. It perfectly works with all levels and makes the class funnier.
